Bexhill Society Concert - Gustavo Porras

Born in San José, Costa Rica, he is a guitarist, composer, and teacher. He began his musical studies at the age of 12 at the Castella Conservatory. After completing his studies there, he continued his education at the National University of Costa Rica, where he earned a degree in guitar performance and pedagogy

In 2018, he obtained a master’s degree in Classical Guitar Performance from the University of Alicante, Spain, followed by a master’s degree in college teaching in 2020. As a soloist, he has performed in Europe, Central America, and North America.

He has released two recording projects, Historias y recuerdos de mi vida and Retratando sonidos. Alongside his career as a guitarist, he is actively engaged in teaching, serving as faculty at the Castella Conservatory and the School of Music of Santo Domingo de Heredia.
