Zoe first started studying guitar with her mother, Linda Kelsall-Barnett, followed by Helen Sanderson. In 2015 she gained a place on the Hampshire Specialist Music Course and completed her A Levels at Peter Symonds College, Winchester. Zoe is currently studying at the Royal College of Music under the tutelage of Gary Ryan and Chris Stell. She has participated in many masterclasses with prolific guitarists including Judicael Perroy, Zoran Dukic and Gaelle Solal. In 2017 she took part in the ensemble playing Cuban Landscape with Rain in the ‘Homage to Leo Brouwer’ concert in Bolivar Hall conducted by Brouwer himself. Zoe has participated in many competitions in the UK. After winning the Recital Prize in 2016 at the Portsmouth Festival, she gave her solo debut at The Rotunda, Portsmouth aged 17. The following year, Zoe won the West Sussex Youth Music Awards and had successes in Chichester and Brighton Springboard Music Festivals. Other performances include recitals at the West Sussex Guitar Club and Chichester Festival. August 2018 saw Zoe play solo guitar while on a tour to China with the National Children’s Choir of Great Britain. She performed in international venues such as Beijing Concert Hall and Shanghai Grand Theatre. She has also toured northern Spain with the choir. In 2018, Zoe competed again in the Portsmouth Festival where she won the Concerto Prize. She enjoyed performing Fantasia para un Gentilhombre by Joaquin Rodrigo with the Solent Symphony Orchestra in March 2019.
